Summary of Changes


Effective September 1, 2025

Fall Catalog Revisions

Degrees and Certificates    

  • Now offering the revised MOT curriculum and OTD curriculum.
  • Now offering Hybrid Immersion DPT at the San Marcos campus.

Parking  

  • Hybrid Immersion students on the Miami campus will have one parking garage entrance/exit per day validated. 

Lockers  

  •  Lockers are emptied one week after the end of each term. Items are held for a maximum of 20 days before being discarded.

Application for Admissions MS-SLP  

  • SLP now offers a preparatory admission status for prospective students taking USAHS leveling courses. 

Application for Admissions MOT  and Application for Admissions OTD  

  • Two letters of recommendation are no longer required to apply. 

Program/Specialty Change and Location Change  

  • Students must submit requests for a location, program, or role specialty change at least 30 days prior to the term deadline provided in the policy. 
  • MOT, OTD, and DPT students who are requesting a program change will have the impacts of the change on progression, full-time status, and financial aid evaluated.

Graduation Application and Commencement Participation  

  • Students who have successfully completed the program requirements are eligible to participate in commencement at the campus where the student completed the program; students may not participate in commencement ceremonies at another campus.
  • If a student completes pending coursework by the conclusion of the add/drop period in the immediate subsequent trimester, the student’s degree conferral date is the most recent degree conferral date.
  • Honor cords are no longer mailed to students with their diploma.

Student Code of Conduct  

  • Students must refrain from facilitating professional misconduct as outlined in this policy.

Accessibility & Accommodations  

  • Accommodations are intended to reduce or eliminate barriers to equal access; they are not intended to waive academic requirements considered essential to a particular course or program.
  • Approved accommodations are not retroactive.
  • The University reserves the right to review a student’s ability to meet the essential functions of their respective program at any point.

Complaint Policy  

  • Students may submit a request for reconsideration to appeal the University’s response to a complaint.  

Professional Misconduct Policy  

  • When the PMC receives a referral in which a misconduct violation has led to a failing grade resulting in academic dismissal, the PMC determines whether the student is responsible or not responsible. Students who are found responsible are dismissed in accordance with the PMC policy. Students who are found not responsible receive a recommendation from PMC for a grade change to reflect the PMC finding. 

Designation of Enrollment Status  

  • Reduced the number of credit hours used to determine full-time enrollment status for some programs, like MOT, OTD, DPT, and MS-SLP.

Grading  

  • Students who do not meet the deliverables for a dissertation course as outlined in the Dissertation Handbook are limited to one NG grade per dissertation course and a maximum of three over the length of the program. See additional details regarding NG limits for dissertation courses.
  • Students in the dissertation courses are not eligible for the Incomplete grade.
  • Students who have earned grades of C+ or below at the midpoint of the course receive notice that a plan is needed to improve their academic performance.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy  

  • Students on Academic/Financial Aid Probation solely for not meeting the pace requirement may be granted one additional term of probation status if their pace of progression has improved and it’s mathematically possible to meet the minimum pace requirement by the end of the term.

Student Wellness  

  • Student Wellness provides direct support, consultation, and community referrals to students seeking additional resources related to their mental health or well-being. 

Student Assistance Program  

  • Through the Student Assistance Program, a counselor is able to refer the student to meet with a counselor for up to six complimentary counseling sessions per issue per year.

Student Organizations  

  • The deadline to submit registration forms for new student organizations is June 1.   

Tuition and Cost of Attendance   

  • Includes tuition and cost of attendance for the Fall 2025 term.

Emergency and Safety Procedures  

  • Students who are injured or witness an injury should complete an Incident Report Form.

Acceptable Use Policy  

  •  The University reserves the right to monitor network activity to ensure compliance with this policy.

Copyright Policy  

  • Employees found to have violated copyright laws or policy will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Student Identity Verification  

  • Students are required to submit a copy of their government-issued ID upon admission/matriculation.
  • Student identification badges must be worn above the waist on the student’s outermost clothing.
  • Badges are deactivated upon graduation. Graduates may access campus as a visitor by checking in at the security desk.

Email Account  

  • Per the University retention policy, USAHS email systems automatically retain messages for four years on active email servers. After four years, email messages will be automatically deleted.
  • Any email that appears to be a phishing attempt or spam should be reported immediately to the University’s IT department or designated security team.

Technology Requirements  

  • For Mac users, MacOS 11.7.10 (Big Sur) or later; MacOS 13.7.5.12 (Ventura) or later recommended if using ExamSoft platform.

MOT and OTD Plan of Study  

  • Now includes the plan of study for the revised MOT curriculum and OTD curriculum, including Residential, Hybrid Immersion, and Flex pathways.
