NUR 7553 - AGNP Role Practicum IIIHours: 5 This is the third and final practicum for the Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner role in which role competence should be displayed. A synthesis of theory and application of evidence-based knowledge are incorporated to provide comprehensive assessment and management of health promotion/disease prevention activities with appropriate pharmacological interventions and patient education. This includes a compliation of all concepts learned such as crisis intervention, acute and chronic illness, palliative care, and complex health conditions applied to the full spectrum of ages including adolescent, adult, old, young-old, middle-old, oldest-old and frail elderly populations. Emphasis is placed on the adult geriatric primary care of individuals and their families within a multicultural environment. Course requires 225 contact hours as a clinical residency under the supervision of a preceptor.
Prerequisites: NUR 7250 , NUR 7552 , and a minimum of one year of practice as a registered nurse.
