This course integrates and synthesizes didactic/learned course content and clinical skills through simulation or client contact applying theory and evidence-based assessment and therapy skills training for students with clients across the lifespan in specialty settings. Students participate in observation, screening, assessment, documentation and report writing activities in-class and during a residency weekend on campus with ASHA certified and state licensed SLPs. Assessment, treatment, and management issues with varied clinical and cultural populations will be addressed, as well as evidenced based practice and appropriate counseling for clients. External site clinical experiences will be experienced.
