NUR 7551 - AGNP Role Practicum IHours: 4 In this first of three clinical practicums for the Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner role specialty, students demonstrate beginning proficiency of assessment and management of common health/illness conditions of the adult/geriatric population including promotion and management of common chronic health problems with appropriate pharmacological interventions and patient education. Emphasis is placed on providing care in a multicultural, holistic environment including health promotion and illness prevention activities. This is a clinical residency under the supervision of a preceptor; course requires 180 contact hours.
Prerequisites: NUR 7210 , NUR 7580 , NUR 7610 , and a minimum one year of practice as a registered nurse. The instructor or student may seek an exception to the prerequisites via the Program Director.
