NUR 7161 - Theoretical and Scientific Underpinnings for Nursing Practice

This course focuses on the integration of theory, empirical evidence, and the application to nursing practice and decision-making. Nurses use theory combined with the best scientific evidence to provide the highest level of practice and improve quality outcomes. The introduction to the use of theory and the process of theory construction is discussed. Major theories of nursing and theories from other disciplines relative to nursing are analyzed with an emphasis on implications for nursing practice.
